Use these FAQs to troubleshoot common questions about creating, managing and sharing visits in Pendulum.

Creating visits
There is no Focus configured, so I cannot create a Focus Visit
Focuses and the sections that appear within them are set by your Local Authority. Before each term, Angel Solutions contacts key Pendulum contacts at each LA to confirm what their Focus Visit structure should be.
If you cannot create a Focus Visit and receive an error, this usually means we have not received confirmation of the Focus structure from your LA Pendulum Administrators.
Please contact your LA Pendulum Admins and ask them to send the required structure to the Pendulum Support Team.

I want to create a visit, but the term dates are not available
Pendulum displays the current, previous and following terms.
For example, if the current term is Spring 2022, you would be able to select:
- Autumn 2021
- Spring 2022
- Summer 2022
It is not possible to create visit records for more than one term in the past or future.
Submitting and finalising visits
The Notify School option is not appearing on my Focus Visits
The Notify School option only becomes available once all mandatory sections have been completed.
Check the list of sections on the right-hand side of the visit. Any section with a star in the Required column must be completed before the visit can be submitted.
I am clicking Notify but cannot submit the visit to the school
When you click Notify, a pop-up displays the details of the Headteacher you are notifying.
If no Headteacher is shown and the Yes, Notify School button is greyed out, the school does not have a Perspective Lite account.
Save the visit without notifying, then contact nexussupport@angelsolutions.co.uk with the following details:
- School name
- DfE number
- Headteacher name
- Headteacher email address
How long before a visit automatically finalises?
Other/Cluster Visits are finalised as soon as they are shown to the school.
Focus Visits are finalised ten working days after being submitted. The Headteacher must provide their feedback within this time.
Finding, editing and deleting visits
I am missing some visits on my Dashboard
Check that your dashboard filters are broad enough to include the visits you are expecting to see.
It is common for missing visits to be linked to a term that is not currently included in your filters.
How do I delete a visit?
To delete a visit, go to your homepage dashboard, click the three dots next to the visit, then click Delete visit.
How do I move a visit back to draft?
To move a visit back to draft, go to your homepage dashboard, click the three dots next to the visit, then click Recall visit.
Word templates and attachments
Can I edit the blank Word template before importing it into Pendulum?
You can add or edit text within the available sections of the Word template.
You must not change the structure of the document. The template is based on your Focus Visit structure, and changing the structure may prevent it from importing back into Pendulum.
The Attach Files option is unavailable
Attachments can only be added after a visit record has been saved at least once.
Save the record, then the Attach Files option should become available.
School access
The school cannot see the visit
If the visit has been submitted and the correct establishment was selected, the school user may not have the correct Perspective Lite permissions.
Permissions are managed by the Headteacher, so the school user should speak to their Headteacher to review their access.

Troubleshooting
Why am I experiencing issues with report content in Pendulum?
To avoid issues with report saving, overwriting or missing content, always use Pendulum in a single browser tab.
Creating, editing or deleting visits while multiple tabs are open can lead to errors and data integrity problems.
Important: Always make sure you are working in one Pendulum tab only.
